Instagram and Facebook users may have to pay $14 a month to use those apps ad-free, Meta says.
Accordingly, Instagram and Facebook users in Europe will have to pay €13 (approximately Lkr 4,500) per month to use the app ad-free.
According to Meta, Facebook currently has 258 million monthly users, while Instagram has around 257 million monthly users.
Under this payment plan, you have to pay €10 (approx. LKR 3,300) per month for desktop usage and €13 (approx. LKR 4,500) per month for mobile devices.
Also, an additional €6 (approx. LKR 2,000) has to be paid for each additional linked account.
They say the reason for this payment plan is that Meta has to contribute to the commissions charged by the App Store and Google Play Store.
